The flowers & fruit are a familiar sight in the British countryside. Elderflowers have a delicate floral scent and are traditionally used to make cordial and sparkling wine and can also be used to flavour desserts. A tea can be made from the dried flowers. The fruit makes delicious jams, preserves, pies, sauces and very excellent red wine.
