Kentish cob nut (Filbert) 1 year old bare root, seedling 20-30cm 'Corylus maxima’
This listing is for one vigorous, one year old tree. Produced by us from seed collected from a commercial nut producing orchard. Small seedling trees establish quickly, producing lush green foliage in spring. Early-season catkins provide pollen for bees, followed by nuts in autumn once established. Thriving in most soil types and tolerant of shade, Kentish cob nuts are an excellent choice for biodiversity and sustainable landscaping.
Originating from the Balkans Peninsula & Caucasia Corylus maxima has long tubular, frilly husks that almost completely enclose the nut. Unlike our native Hazel Corylus avellana where the husk is much shorter.
Ideal for nut production, nature-friendly gardens and sustainable planting projects
