Garden Strawberry x 6 plants
Fragaria ananassa

French plant collectors grew the a Chilean species - Fragaria chiloensis; a self sterile female flowered strawberry, alongside F. virginana a North American species and the resulting cross produced the strawberry as we know it today.
We grow an excellent common variety of garden strawberry that produces medium size conical fruits with very good flavour especially if allowed to ripen to a deep red colour.
Price is for six bare root plants. Roots will be wrapped in compostable corn starch for transport.
We are working to reduce horticultural plastic by growing more plants in deep beds and supplying them bare rooted.
